How to Measure Kitchen Countertops for a Quote

measuring countertops

Homes across the Denver Metro

— from Arvada bungalows to Littleton ranches — come in all shapes and sizes. Some kitchens sit in historic houses with cozy footprints, while others spread across open floor plans in newer neighborhoods. No matter the size or style, one thing remains true: getting an accurate countertop quote starts with the correct measurements.

Don’t be intimidated. Grab a tape measure and a piece of graph paper, and within a few minutes, you’ll have a sketch and the supporting numbers we need. From there, it takes no time to get an accurate quote back to you for your consideration.

Step-by-Step: How to Measure Your Countertops

Taking measurements can be tricky, but it’s not that difficult. Follow our simple steps and you’ll be done in about ½ hour.

STEP 1

Print the Form and Draw Your Layout

Print our free quote form and sketch the shape of your kitchen countertops on graph paper. Break the drawing into sections (L-shaped, straight runs, islands, or peninsulas).

STEP 2

Measure Each Section

Record the length and depth of each section using a tape measure, rounding to the nearest ¼ inch. Write these numbers directly on your drawing.

STEP 3

Mark Appliances and Fixtures

Identify cutouts for sinks, cooktops, or other appliances. If you’ll be providing your own sink, make a note. Otherwise, let us know if you want to purchase one wholesale through KBD.

STEP 4

Label the Details

Note any backsplashes, raised bars, or angled corners. Even a quick sketch helps us understand the layout.

STEP 5

Add Your Preferences

Write down the type of countertop you’d like quoted. If you don’t specify, we’ll base your estimate on Group 1 Granite/Quartz options from Arizona Tile.

STEP 6

Send It In

Scan or snap a photo of your form and email it to sa***@*********do.com. Our team will review your measurements and send your personalized quote.
